Something tells me you won't be catching this story on Fox News:

"Iran Air Flight 655 was shot down by the US Navy's guided missile cruiser USS Vincennes on Sunday July 3, 1988, killing all 290 passengers, including 66 children, and crewmembers onboard.

The civilian airliner, carrying passengers from Iran, Italy, the UAE, India, Pakistan and the former Yugoslavia, was en route from Iran's southern city of Bandar Abbas to Dubai when it was hit by two SM-2MR surface-to-air missiles launched from the warship commanded by Captain William C. Rogers III.

Following the tragic incident, ranked seventh among the deadliest airliner fatalities, unapologetic US officials said their naval officers had mistaken the Iranian Airbus A300 for an F-14 Tomcat fighter.

They went on to claim that the Vincennes crew had been under a simultaneous psychological condition called 'scenario fulfillment', and had therefore confused their training scenario with reality and responded accordingly."

Excel Tip: Display Last Saved By Date & User

I found this handy tip to date stamp an MS Excel file's last-saved time (and person). (Yes, files do get time-stamped when saved, but if they are ever sent via email, that date-stamp can get over-written when saved off the server to a local hard drive. This little macro stamps the date right into the worksheet.)

Could this be Obama's vice-president? He certainly likes the way Patrick writes speeches! Notice how he flubs the quote, pauses, and then decides to continue anyways? Funny.

In college, when you write something without citing proper sources, this is known as plagiarism. Usually, they make a big deal about it. Obama obviously didn't think he'd get caught and he obviously wanted to take the credit for saying these things or he would have said, "I like a saying my good friend Deval Patrick has said..." or something to that effect. Patrick is a supporter and I'm sure he was honored to be quoted, even if he didn't get the credit. This should be a red flag to anyone looking at this race objectively, but obviously the Obamamaniacs think their candidate can do no evil. See Part 1 and Part 3 here. (He also like John Edwards.) In Barack Obama, we are seeing the emergence of a BS artist par excellence. You can enjoy his speeches all you want, but he needs a lot more scrutiny or he will screw you and me. A group of Methodists is stepping up efforts to force a church vote in July on whether Southern Methodist University has the right to lease out land for the George W. Bush Presidential Library and policy institute….

Rev. Andrew Weaver, an SMU alumnus who is spearheading a fight against the land deal from New York, said he hopes to force a vote at a regional meeting in Dallas in July and persuade delegates not to ratify the mission council action.

Professors at Southern Methodist University who are worried about plans to create a George W. Bush policy institute there have said that they don’t want a partisan center to hurt the institution’s academic reputation.

Faculty critics say that although many of them disagree with President Bush’s policies, they would not object to a library-oriented archive and museum — and they say that in discussions with professors, the university has discussed a vision for such a Bush center. But creating an academic center with a specific goal of boosting the Bush image and agenda strikes many professors as antithetical to a university’s academic values.

Falling dollar concerns Opec

Interesting story about the dollar and OPEC. From MEED:

"The difficulties faced by Opec members as a result of the falling US dollar remain a deep concern to the oil cartel. Despite a barrel of crude topping $100 in early January, the 13-member body has lost tens of billions of dollars in potential earnings since the turn of the century, as the greenback has fallen against other currencies.
In 2007, and despite record oil revenues, Opec producers are thought to have earned 10 per cent less than they would have if they had priced their oil in euros. The issue has often been raised on an informal basis by Iran and Venezuela, but Saudi Arabia has steered moderate GCC countries away from the issue, in recognition of its political sensitivity.
Yet the reality of lost revenues is becoming increasingly hard to ignore. Opec secretary general Abdalla el-Badri now recognises that a shift to the euro is becoming an increasingly viable proposition as the currency becomes more established.
A complete switch to the euro, however, would be a short-sighted move. Virtually all oil traded in the international markets is priced in dollars. And while that should not dictate future strategy on its own, nor should the dollar be ditched entirely.
The dollar may continue to fall, but in the future the same depreciation could easily hit the euro, yen or, indeed, any currency.
Pricing oil with a properly weighted basket of currencies may be the best solution.
Finding a consensus among Opec members on the balance of currencies in such a basket would test El-Badri's diplomatic skills. But it would provide a more stable long-term system than the current one.
Opec is not in a rush to make a decision affecting trillions of dollars of its members' revenues. But it is increasingly likely it will make the decision at some point."

"A nonprofit group accused of using aggressive telephone 'push-polling' to attack opponents of GOP hopeful Mike Huckabee shares major donors with Huckabee's official presidential campaign, according to government records.
Common Sense Issues is a tax-exempt group registered in Delaware whose organizers have acknowledged the use of controversial telephone polling tactics to promote Huckabee's presidential bid—and allegedly to trash the campaigns of the former Arkansas governor's rivals. The nonprofit also helped set up and run Trusthuckabee.com, a Web site that was involved in front-line efforts to recruit and mobilize Huckabee supporters to turn out for the Iowa caucuses.
Rival candidates have criticized Common Sense Issues's tactics, questioning whether the group's ties to the Huckabee campaign are really arms-length—as required by federal law. The Huckabee campaign has distanced itself from Common Sense Issues, renouncing its support and joining his rivals in calling for investigations into the nonprofit's activities."

On Sunday Iran announced plans to start a new Oil Bourse (stock exchange) that will not accept dollars; only Yen, Yuan, and Euros. This comes after threats by Saudi Arabia to stop accepting dollars, and the US cutting 4-5 communications cables to the Middle East, and then putting an anti-missile defense systen in Israel: signalling an Iran War.

I hate to say this, but some people are finding out about Ron Paul and his ideas a day late and a dollar short. Here's an interesting article on the Texas congressman's speech to the West Virginia delegates at their GOP convention yesterday.

Ecuador wants military base in Miami

NAPLES (Reuters) - Ecuador's leftist President Rafael Correa said Washington must let him open a military base in Miami if the United States wants to keep using an air base on Ecuador's Pacific coast.

Correa has refused to renew Washington's lease on the Manta air base, set to expire in 2009. U.S. officials say it is vital for counter-narcotics surveillance operations on Pacific drug-running routes.

"We'll renew the base on one condition: that they let us put a base in Miami -- an Ecuadorean base," Correa said in an interview during a trip to Italy. "If there's no problem having foreign soldiers on a country's soil, surely they'll let us have an Ecuadorean base in the United States."

Two things to note: 1) He didn't return at the end of the break and 2) 3 days later, a bunch of Fox stations decided not to renew his contract, and his show was cancelled. Coincidence?

Trouble in the Middle East!!

US Crashes Internet In Middle East After Saudi Threat, Russia Responds With Air Forces

Reports circulating in the Kremlin today are painting a grim picture of just how desperate US War Leaders have become as their economy continues its freefall towards total bankruptcy by their crashing of Global Internet access for the Middle East's banking centers in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Iran, UAR, Turkey and Kuwait.

These reports state that the Americans became "enraged" this past week when the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) rejected US demands for an immediate increase in oil production.

Further angering the Americans this past week was Turkey's rejection of US demands for them to sever banking ties with Iran's Bank Mellat, and which allows Iranian continued access to Global banking resources.

But, these reports state, the greatest fears of the United States were raised this past week when Saudi Arabia "warned" the United States to "back off" of its threats against Iran or face the Saudi's decoupling the US Dollar from its enormous World oil trade transactions.

Though the American President [pictured top left with Saudi King] personally went to the Saudi Kingdom to lobby the US's Middle East allies in agreeing for attacks against Iran for the Iranians decoupling of the US Dollar from its oil trade, Bush was quickly rebuffed.

It should be noted that those Nations who have dared to decoupled the US Dollar from their oil trade, Iraq, Iran, Russia and Venezuela, have come under withering attacks from the Americans, and their Western Allies; none worse than the Iraqis who are reported to have suffered over 1 million deaths since being invaded by the US in 2003.

But, as these reports state, the "worst nightmare" of the Americans appeared to be coming true this past week when their Saudi Arabian allies were reported to have begun the decoupling of the US Dollar from their oil trade with the intention of replacing the rapidly declining American currency with the European Euro.

American War Leaders, though, have had previous warnings of the Saudis growing fears of being the holders of trillions of declining US Dollars with Saudi Arabia, for the first time, refusing to drop their interest rates in "lock-step" with the US Federal Reserve, and leading to fears of a "stampede" by other Middle Eastern Nations out of US Dollar backed assets.

Under such a threat, and with the Saudi King growing closer to Iran's President Ahmadinejad [both pictured top left 2nd photo], Russian Military Analysts state in these reports that the United States invoked one of their so called "nuclear options" by severing the three major undersea cables connecting the Middle East's major banking centers to their Western, and Global, counterparts.
The significance to the severing of these cables is the Middle East Banking Centers being denied access to the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT), based in Brussels and which carries up to 12.7 million messages a day containing instructions on many of the International transfers of money between banks, lies in Saudi Arabia, or any other Middle East Nation, being unable to change their previously, before loss of communication, encoded currency instructions from being changed.

Moscow's actions against the West, in the severing by the United States of these cables, was swift as President Putin ordered Russian Air Force Fighters and Bombers to take immediate action to protect the Russian Nations vital undersea cables in the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans.

To some of the Russian Air Force assets used we can read as reported by the Reuters News Service article titled "Russia sends bombers, fighters to Atlantic, Arctic", and which says:

"Air force pilots will carry out practice in the areas involving reconnaissance, missile-bombing attacks on a navy attack force of a hypothetical enemy, air-to-air combat and refuelling and patrolling," an air force spokesman said. The bomber group included two Tupolev Tu-160 strategic bombers, codenamed "Blackjack" by NATO, two turbo-prop Tu-95 "Bear" strategic bombers, and eight Tu-22 "Blinder" bombers. MiG-31 and Su-27 fighters were also sent to the region."

To the final outcome of these events it is not in our knowing, other than one Russian Banking Official, wishing to remain anonymous, stating that, "Should the Saudi's effectively decouple their oil from the US Dollar, the United States, for all practical purposes will cease to be a World power as it economy will collapse completely as the US Dollar has no value in and of itself due to the staggering debt of the Americans. Without oil they are nothing."]

The presidential fields of both parties have narrowed, and the arguments about how we should move forward are now familiar. TAC believes that only one candidate has put forth a diagnosis of America’s current ills and has a vision to turn the country off its misguided course. Fred To Drop Out

Thompson does not plan to endorse any rivals for now, even though one of his best friends is Sen. John McCain.

If Thompson endorses McCain, it's certainly not going to be rewarded with a spot on his ticket as a running mate. It's almost certain that will go to his new BFF Joe Lieberman. McCain and his dad have been very big supporters of Israel (Google McCain USS Liberty), so this makes a lot of sense. If Thompson really wants to make a difference and seriously impact this race then an endorsement of Ron Paul would be really huge. C'mon Fred! Do the right thing!!

New Better Gmail 2 fixes New Gmail Glitch

If you use Gmail and Firefox, you really need to get Better Gmail 2 Firefox Extension for New Gmail. It adds a number of cool scripts to Firefox which let you save searches and "floats" the signature up to above the quoted message. This is my only real big annoyance with Gmail.
This utility has been out for a while, but it "broke" when Gmail upgraded to their new interface. Better Gmail 2 once again makes everything works as it should. Thanks, Lifehacker!

McCain Connection to the USS Liberty Incident

I first heard about this incident through Alex Jones' excellent documentary Terrorstorm. Now I read that John McCain's father was in the middle of this whole incident. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree when it comes to an overzealous support of Israel.
